It gives us great pleasure to welcome and introduce you to the various Undergraduate & Post Graduate Courses of Pune University at Baburaoji Gholap College of Pune District Education Association. At Present Our College offers various Undergraduate Courses leading to B.A., B.Sc., B.Com., B.Sc.( Computer Science) and Post Graduate Courses leading to M.Com., M.C.A.(Under Science Faculty) M. Sc.(Computer Science, Physics), M.A. (English, History, Economics), P.G.D.F.T. (Post Graduate Diploma in foreign Trade). College has excellent, highly qualified, energetic and experienced teaching staff, spacious, well equipped laboratories and well stocked library with spacious reading hall facility for students as well as staff. Higher education is expected to produce young citizens, who will be useful to the society and will participate in nation building. We encourage the students to be involved with co-curricular activities, which acts as a central focus for overall indirect learning. Baburaoji Gholap College, Sangvi, Pune – 27. was established in June 1989 with inspiration of Hon. Late Prof. Ramakrishna More, President of Poona District Education Association, Pune. The college was established, keeping in view the fact there was no College of higher education within the fast developing area of Sangvi, Aundh, Baner, Mhalunge, Wakad, Kalewadi etc. The major population in these areas comes from middle class and is economically backward. There are 4 higher Secondary Schools in this area. Access to higher education was a problem for these students especially for girls since other senior colleges were more than 10 Kms away form Sangvi. Our college is a multi-faculty college which offers Degree courses in Arts, Science and Commerce, and Post-graduate Degrees in Arts, Commerce and Computer Science to the students coming from the semi urban and rural areas of Maval, Mulshi, Haveli taluka. Under Graduate course in Science and Commerce were started in the year 1989, Arts in 1993 and Computer Science in 1994.
We are running autonomous certificate courses in foreign language, and short term courses in Marketing Research and Management and Tourism Management. We are planning to start carrier oriented in Arts, Commerce and Science faculty. There is an increase in the number of students and courses, but the growth is not uniform. The quality of Educational Institutions was measured in the past in quantitative terms such as the students strength and number of programs available. Nowadays quality is the keyword in Higher Education. The quality in education includes quality of instruction, Student relationship, learning facilities, innovative ideas etc. All the programs offered by college are well woven with aims and objectives of the Institution. We have observed that there is a growing need for these programs. This College also caters to the needs of girls form these areas, which is quite obvious form the fact that the number of girl student in the college is ever increasing. The programs offered by the college are also compatible to the local needs and the challenges that they have to the face in the future. The status gained by our college today is all because of proper Guidance & Inspiration of various Chairmans. They had a broad vision of every teacher and employee of the institution. The efforts of the entire college staff are focused on the academic development of the college and the over-all development of our students. |
