History of the Commerce Department.

This faculty was established along with the establishment of this college in the year 1989.

It is started with F.Y.B.Com class having the initial enrollment of 93 students. New Sangavi is a Fast developing suburb in the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. As Pimpri is the chief industrial Belt, there was a necessity of Commerce Courses. The college is located centrally. The feeding area is Sangavi, Wakad, Pimple-Nilakh, Balewadi, Aundh etc.

The faculty has shown a tremendous growth right from its inception. The first batch of

B.Com passed out in 1992. The performance of the students has been passed out and more than

700 students have completed their graduation from this college.

Have been passed out and more than 3500 students have completed their graduation from this college.

The faculty offers various subjects along with different optional subjects to the students.

Banking, Marketing, Costing, Geography etc. are offered as the optional subjects.

The faculty of commerce started M.Com.Part I class from June 2002. All the formalities and Conditions have been fulfilled successfully. The number of students admitted to M.Com. (part one) Were 54. There are around 800 students in the Commerce steam during the academic year 2003-04.

The department has experienced and highly qualified teaching faculties.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DEPARTMENTS :--

• Our head of the department, Dr. Dongare M. N. is a recognized Research Guide for Ph.D and M.Phil in the faculty of Management and social sciences(Economics) of Tilak Maharashtra University , Pune and in the Faculty of Commerce (Business Administration) University of Pune. Two research students have been completed their M.Phil and 6 researchers are doing Ph.D under his guidance at present.
• Principal S. N. Kukale is the member of Academic Council and standing committee of University of Pune.
• Prof. Mrs. M.M.Bhandari was awarded M.Phil degree in the first class by S.N.D.T. University of Mumbai and also she has been successful in SET Examination.
• Our students Ms. Kanchan Mulatkar and Shekhar Rashinkar presented a Research Projects in Avishkar Programme of University of Pune. They could rank at the college level and reached to the State Level.
